What are your qualifications to create this course?

Great Question!
I have a Master of Science Degree in Business Management with a minor in Real Estate. I wrote my Master's thesis on Affordable Housing. I'm a licensed real estate broker in Montana (about 20 years).

I pledge never to represent any homebuyer in Montana (where I am a licensed broker) who takes my course because it is more important for homebuyers to learn about home buying. I also do not accept any referral fees, ever. No part of this course or company is sponsored in any manner. Ethics and transparency are of utmost importance to me.

The only information required to take this course is your name and email. For utmost confidentiality and privacy, all credit cards are processed directly by Stripe or PayPal.

I am a HUD-Homes Certified Broker, a real estate presenter at Neighborworks Homebuyer in-person class, and a homeowner. Former Habitat for Humanity Board Member, former PTA President of a Title I school, and former Board Member of the Historic Preservation Advisory Commission.

Why did you create this course?

Great question!
I had a dream one night that I needed to make a difference and improve first-time homebuyer education.
There is a big disconnect with homebuyer education that I learned from working with hundreds of first-time homebuyers.
Homebuyer education should be concise, positive, and engaging. You should be able to access it from your phone, anywhere and anytime.
I hope to encourage homebuyers to learn how to buy a house at the very beginning before they choose a lender or real estate agent.

Why should I learn about how to buy a home before I choose a lender or real estate agent?

Great question!
I believe that if you learn everything about buying a home before you see a lender or real estate agent, you will have an advantage because you will know the process, what questions to ask and how to avoid discrimination, racial profiling, and predatory lending. How can you avoid those things if you don't know about them? I don't want any homebuyer to be taken advantage of ever!

Can I buy a house with a bad credit score?

Great Question!

A few government loan programs are available for credit scores as low as 580. Of course, I will also show you how to increase your credit score without a credit card. I learned that most first-time homebuyers don't have bad credit; they just don't have any credit. Let's change that.

Can I use this course for my HUD-required education to get government loan assistance?

Great Question!

Yes! This course Aligns with the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling, as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 2023.
I believe that knowing how to prepare to buy a home is just as important as the process of buying a home. I included a lot more information than is required for HUD homebuyer education because this is the information I get asked for regularly.
I also don't believe in creating something average. I wanted to create an exceptional course that inspires you to know everything you can about the entire home-buying process and be able to use that course throughout your home-buying journey.
